London Collections returned for another season bringing back the heat to the London catwalks. It was a great fun filled time to be in London amongst the designers, models, bloggers and other menswear enthusiasts all waiting to see what the brands will deliver for the coming season.
Being a menswear enthusiast it was exciting to see what the brands and designers had to bring to the table. I had the pleasure of seeing shows and presentations from the likes of Nicole Farhi, Pringle of Scotland, Casely-Hayford, Topman, Duchamp, James Long, Oliver Spencer, YMC, John Smedley and many more.
The Topman AW14 show was very entertaining as it brought a variety of colour palettes with amazing silhouettes, cropped and oversized outerwear. There was such great mix of modern tailoring with casualwear.
Some of my favourite highlights were:
- Pringle of Scotland brought clean cuts to menswear design with textured blazers and knitwear layered over turtlenecks. There was an interesting use checked prints on jacket interiors and lapels.
- Casely-Hayford brought a mix of grunge and modern tailoring, showcasing amazing use of prints, checks, block-stripes, sweats and outerwear with panel and overlaying detail.
- Duchamp brought the latest in classic tailoring with a modern touch, featuring amazing Prince of Wales, window-pane check, three piece suits.
- John Smedley brought classic knitwear with bold geometric prints that definitely caught my eye.
